We're Back...

We survived...barely, but we did survive. I really took WAY
less pictures than I realized or hoped to, but without a husband there to man the kids while I snap and shoot away, I found it pretty hard to do.

Our trip to Utah was successful. The drive went for the most part well. The only glitch was that the brand new DVD player in my car will no longer eject DVDs (not good on a long trip. I think I've had enough of Aladdin to last me a long time!) Brooklyn was able to visit Carter on the way up so that was fun for her - we were able to visit Grandparents, family and friends. We stayed with my grandparents for a few days where the girls got spoiled with lots of candy, and game playing (Brooklyn's personal favorite) we then went and stayed with Mike's sister Jamie for a few days. They were very accommodating and the girls had fun with there dog Chloe and we played the Wii for the first time. The girls kept busy and we had lots of fun making our rounds.

The first week we were in Bear Lake and the girls had fun playing in the sand and at the park. Brooklyn was able to go kayaking which she LOVED, but our trip was shortened due to our little Brielle having an ear infection. I still can't figure out why the only time my kids get sick is when we are out of town...it drives me nuts.

The second week was spent in Lake Powell. After stressing over not being able to keep track of my kids and having one of them drown (like a girl did at Bear Lake while we were there) or dying of carbon monoxide poisoning, I managed to mellow out once we were finally there.

We went tubing which was Brooklyn's personal favorite, we went wake boarding, and went on LOTS of boat rides due to the fact that they instantly put Brielle into a slumber. Mike met up with us halfway throughout the trip and was able to enjoy it with us. I was glad he arrived because Brielle had broken out with this horrible rash ALL over her body. I'm not joking, every square inch was covered. He took her to urgent care and it turns out she had a severe allergic reaction to the amoxicilllin she was taking for her ear infection - once again, only on vacation when it's hard to take care of these things do they happen. The only bummer at Lake Powell was that the air on the boat broke the first day we got there so we were hot, really hot. But, that just made us jump into the lake more which was fine. I loved not having to get ready for the week. That's a true vacation when you don't have to wear any make-up or blow dry your hair.

Awww... so now we are back to real life, back to work, back to laundry and all those other fun little chores. Thanks to the Jackson's for inviting us on this fun adventure. We enjoyed getting out of the heat and doing something fun!

This picture just made me laugh, the girls wanted to "ride" the deer that are in Great Grandpa Donaldson's backyard. They posed for the picture and they wouldn't get off...they were on there for probably 15 minutes just "Riding Bambi" and had these huge smiles on the whole time. It was pretty funny. Who knew that entertaining kids was this easy?
