Mommy, can we trade our doggy???
What? Are you serious? We took Coco to the Vet for her last set of shots for the year and there was this teeny, tiny little baby chihuahua in the waiting room. She instantly shot across the room to pet the little dog, and she then runs over to me and says "Mom, let's ask her if she wants to trade dogs with us!" Um, I don't think so. I thought that was too funny. I won't lie, it did make me a little frustrated because the one and only reason why we have a dog is because of her, and now she doesn't want her, she wants a different dog? On the way home I asked her why she wanted to trade dogs and she said "because all I ever wanted was to have a doggy who just sits on my lap and that I can hod" (which is true) Coco is a little spastic and won't just let you hold her without getting crazy on you. I assured her that once Coco gets a little older she won't have so much energy and she would love for you to just sit and hold her. Funny girl!

We're Back...
We survived...barely, but we did survive. I really took WAY
less pictures than I realized or hoped to, but without a husband there to man the kids while I snap and shoot away, I found it pretty hard to do.
Our trip to Utah was successful. The drive went for the most part well. The only glitch was that the brand new DVD player in my car will no longer eject DVDs (not good on a long trip. I think I've had enough of Aladdin to last me a long time!) Brooklyn was able to visit Carter on the way up so that was fun for her - we were able to visit Grandparents, family and friends. We stayed with my grandparents for a few days where the girls got spoiled with lots of candy, and game playing (Brooklyn's personal favorite) we then went and stayed with Mike's sister Jamie for a few days. They were very accommodating and the girls had fun with there dog Chloe and we played the Wii for the first time. The girls kept busy and we had lots of fun making our rounds.
The first week we were in Bear Lake and the girls had fun playing in the sand and at the park. Brooklyn was able to go kayaking which she LOVED, but our trip was shortened due to
our little Brielle having an ear infection. I still can't figure out why the only time my kids get sick is when we are out of town...it drives me nuts.
The second week was spent in Lake Powell. After stressing over not being able to keep track of my kids and having one of them drown (like a girl did at Bear Lake while we were there) or dying of carbon monoxide poisoning, I managed to mellow out once we were finally there.
We went tubing which was Brooklyn's personal favorite, we
went wake boarding, and went on LOTS of boat rides due to the fact that they instantly put Brielle into a slumber. Mike met up with us halfway throughout the trip and was able to enjoy it with us. I was glad he arrived because Brielle had broken out with this horrible rash ALL over her body. I'm not joking, every square inch was covered. He took her to urgent care and it turns out she had a severe allergic reaction to the amoxicilllin she was taking for her ear infection - once again, only on vacation when it's hard to take care of these things do they happen. The only bummer at Lake Powell was that the air on the boat broke the first day we got there so we were hot, really hot. But, that just made us jump into the lake more which was fine. I loved not having to get ready for the week. That's a true vacation when you don't have to wear any make-up or blow dry your hair.
Awww... so now we are back to real life, back to work, back to laundry and all those other fun little chores. Thanks to the Jackson's for inviting us on this fun adventure. We enjoyed getting out of the heat and doing something fun!

This picture just made me laugh, the girls wanted to "ride" the deer that are in Great Grandpa Donaldson's backyard. They posed for the picture and they wouldn't get off...they were on there for probably 15 minutes just "Riding Bambi" and had these huge smiles on the whole time. It was pretty funny. Who knew that entertaining kids was this easy?

I forgot my camera!
Sunday, the girls and I left with some friends to ditch the heat and bask in the 78 degree beach weather sun ( I know those who can relate are drooling at the thought). We made it to the condo...unfortunately with Brielle screaming in the backseat the entire ride (minus the 20 minute nap she managed to squeeze in before we had to stop because Brooklyn had to go potty -ugh). We are still here and loving the windows being open with the fresh breeze blowing the drapes back and forth. I forgot how enjoyable summertime can actually be - you don't have to make a dash to and from the car into the next air conditioned building before needing a shower because you are sweating so bad. We have been swimming everyday, gone to fashion Island (I won't go into too much detail but Brooklyn got stuck in an elevator by herself...luckily Tabitha was there with me and it turned out alright. When the doors opened the poor girl was sitting Indian style in the middle of the elevator with her hands over her ears crying. That taught her real quickly to stop running into elevators without me!) By the way...Pinkberry's is at Fashion Island and after hearing about it for so long without ever stopping to try it...we gave in! The yogurt itself...really yummy. They only have 3 flavors: regular, green tea and coffee. So, I went with regular and got talked into trying the mochi (is that right) as a topping. They told me it was a rice cake topping - it's their signature thing. Not my favorite. It's really gummy - it's okay, it wasn't disgusting or anything but after hearing how good it was, I was a little let down. It might of been the texture. I am a real texture person. Anyway, we went to the beach and collected sea shells, went to the much talked about Beachcomber (the breakfast is supposedly phenomenal, we still want to try breakfast but we went there for lunch. Really good!) And the girls are napping away while I sit outside on the computer getting some sun on my legs. Life is great. And all this with no pictures to show for it. Cannot believe I forgot the camera! This seems to happen to me more often than not. I need to get it together. Mike is meeting us here today, let's hope for the next half of the trip we will have something to show!
