This is the object of affection - and it is driving me crazy! Brielle cries for her "BB" all day long. She knows where I hide them and stands right in front of that spot all day long reaching up for her BB. Her teeth are already getting buck from this darn thing, so she is only allowed BB's at night or naps. So when I explain to her that it's not nigh-night time so she can't have one - she immediately slumps onto the floor and fake snores with her eyes scrunched closed. It almost breaks my heart and half the time I give in...is it really worth the fight? I should've taken the beloved BB away at about 10 months old when she started chucking it halfway across the room because she didn't want that thing to be shoved in her mouth because that meant it was time for bed. So, the rookie mom that has never had a child take a pacifier before (me) thought that I would leave them in her crib for her "just in case" she changed her mind. BIG MISTAKE. Over the next few months she would pop it into her mouth every once in a while for the heck of it and now she's hooked. AAGHHH!

At least you can take it away... Ammon is still addicted to sucking his fingers.
Kim good luck...I had to cute the nipple part in half for Chandler and he would hand them back to me with a puzzled look. I would tell him it was broke and we had to throw it away. We did that till they were all gone. It was a couple of bad days, but so worth it in the end. I have heard of other people tying them to balloons and telling them good bye, cuz they were to big for them now. They say it works.
Kolette
that is too funny about her slumping on the floor to fake sleep. i laughed. i'm sorry- i've still yet had to really fight that battle. elle loved hers, but was okay when we limited use and one day we just stopped altogether and it was no big deal. i'm sorry! but jada is obsessed with her blankie if it makes you feel any better!
Ha Ha! I loved the fake sleeping. We cut a hole in Alyssa's, and she didn't like to suck on it any more. Every time she asked for it we would give it to her until she eventually just stopped asking for it.
Right there with you Kim. Except Kate says, "binkie" all day long.
Good luck with the battle. McK basically had a binkie till he was 4. We tried every trick that we knew and failed. I think it comes down to who wants it their way more.
You know I have complete empathy for you, but at least we can commiserate, right? :)
