We registered her for Kindergarten today :( Of course she is ready and SO excited to go but it seems so strange that she won't be home with me anymore. She seems too little to start going to a school with such big kids! The one last thing on the checklist that we had to do was to go to her doctor and get her shots updated. WOW! She knew she was going to have to get two shots and a TB test and she was petrified - for the first time EVER. When the nurse walked into the room she hid. Seriously. She ran behind the little "beds" that are in the rooms and wouldn't come out. I didn't know weather to laugh or cry because it was kind of funny, but she wouldn't come out. Finally after mumbling something like "I think your gonna get sick because it is nasty back there" she managed to get up and out of there as fast as possible. It then took another 5 minutes of her hysterically crying and me trying every bribe known to man to get her to let us push her sleeve up so we could hold her down to get the shots. The first one went well, the second one...not so much, and the TB test was pretty much torture for her (and for us - let's be honest). After all was said and done she informed me that if I had just told her that she would get a sticker afterwards then she would have been fine. Really? Well, that information would have been nice before hand, but whatever.
I had toyed with the idea of transferring her to another school, but that was proving to not be so easy, so after weighing the different options I decided to just leave her put. For now.
Wish us good Kindergarten luck :)

Wow, I'm with you. We have to sign Alyssa up, in the next few weeks. Alyssa did the exact same thing at her 5 yr check up. She has never been afraid of any shots until that one and she ran out of the room and through the halls of the office. It took 2 nurses to help me catch her.
I remember hiding all the time behind the beds before getting shots. I hated them, and still do!
She is a doll and will do great in Kindergarten!!!
Wow, a kindergartener! My sister's oldest is in kindergarten this year and it's hard to believe. And although those shots will be hard when Chess is 4 or 5, I'm so glad we have over 2 years until she has to get one again!
